North Oaks School Spotlight: Mounds View High School

This month, salutes Mounds View High School, located in Arden Hills. The school serves more than 1,600 students in grades 9 through 12 with 77 full-time teachers, giving the school about a 21:1 student/teacher ratio.

Mounds View Rankings and Test Scores

Mounds View High is ranked seventh on Washington Post’s annual list of Most Challenging High Schools in Minnesota. School ranking site awards the school five out of a possible five stars and ranks it 11th of 502 public high schools in Minnesota.

Mounds View’s 11th graders did exceptionally well on the science portion of the 2015 Minnesota Comprehensive Assessments Series III (MCA III) exams, with 73.7 percent meeting or exceeding the standard. The district’s average is 68.4 percent and the state’s is 54.6 percent.

About half of Mounds View’s students participate in Advanced Placement® course work and exams.
