At North Oaks Preschool, the teachers and staff care about cultivating your child’s joy of learning while providing a fun and educational experience.

The “Whole Child” Learning Experience

The “whole-child” learning approach gives your child opportunities to learn and grow with traditional academic studies, hands on exploring and visits from special guests like naturalists, fire fighters, police officers, dentists, and many other fun and interesting guests.

Field trips to the Tamarack Nature Center, an animal farm, a pizza shop, a grocery store, bird banding, and Minneapolis Orchestra Hall are all part of the preschool curriculum and give children a chance to explore their world while providing a fun way to learn.

The Two Year Curriculum

The two year curriculum is designed to start at age 3 and continue until age 5 and leave your child fully prepared to start kindergarten. At age 3, children meet two days a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:15am to 11:45am.

At age 4, the children meet three days a week on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 9:15am to 11:45am. At North Oaks Preschool the small classroom size, only twenty kids per classroom with two teachers, provides more of a one on one learning experience.

The preschool is also a parent-run cooperative which means parents are encouraged to actively participate in the classroom experience. North Oaks Preschool is licensed by the Minnesota Department of Human Services.

Parents have provided great reviews for North Oaks Preschool stating how they love the feeling of being welcome, the warm and loving environment, and that they feel their children are emotionally and academically ready to continue their learning in kindergarten. North Oaks Preschool can provide your child with a great start into the world of learning if you are willing to give the school a chance.
